Moment of Significance is a series of 30 video works built from a photogrammetric scans of weathered concrete playground animals encountered in Urgench, Uzbekistan. Created for the objkt labs Residency and developed as part of the group exhibition You Got Here Just In Time, the work captures the instant when something begins to feel important before its meaning can be understood — the disquiet and wonder of being present within an experience that is already becoming memory.

The figures appear within a reconstructed digital landscape where echoes of the same forms rise at an impossible scale, half-buried, introducing a temporal dislocation: not just a place remembered, but a future recollection already present within the scene. The work reflects May’s wider concern with how technological systems of recording reshape what persists, what distorts, and what counts as real. Photogrammetry here does not preserve, but holds open an unstable moment of recognition.
