Selected for the Second objkt labs Residency
ยท announcement
Alex May has been selected for the second objkt labs Residency, an eight-week online programme for artists working across art, technology, and AI.
Alex May has been selected for the second objkt labs Residency, joining a cohort of artists for an eight-week collaborative online programme beginning in March 2026. Announced on 23 February 2026, the residency brings together practitioners working across digital art, blockchain culture, and experimental image-making.
The programme is structured around four themes: Creation, Community, Communication, and Curation. Across the residency, participants develop work and discussion at the intersection of art, technology, and AI, supported by mentors Kevin Abosch, Boris Eldagsen, Margaret Murphy, and Anika Meier. Guest contributions come from figures including Aleksandra Art, Head of Arts at Trilitech, and Kika Nicolela, Head Curator at objkt.
For Alex May, the residency offers a strong context for extending recent blockchain-based work while keeping the focus on how technological systems shape value, circulation, and memory. That question runs through projects such as Objkt of Time, and makes the residency a natural setting for further work around post-photography, generative process, and the social life of digital images.
The second cohort will culminate in a group NFT release and an exhibition presented both online and offline. The announcement post by objkt labs is available on X.
