By this point the work had already built a substantial international exhibition history, and the Miami presentation confirmed its continuing relevance in new public conversations around AI. What gives ArchaeaBot its staying power is the way it binds technological systems to questions of ecology, future life, and damaged worlds, keeping May’s interest in memory and mediation firmly connected to material conditions rather than abstraction alone.
